The Association for European Transport (AET) warmly congratulates Elisabete Arsénio on receiving the TRA VISIONS 2026 Senior Researcher Award in the Cross-modal Passengers category during the Transport Research Arena (TRA) 2026 conference in Budapest. The award recognises her outstanding research achievements, presented in her submission entitled Collaborative Innovation for Sustainable and Smart Mobility in Europe.
The TRA VISIONS awards recognise outstanding researchers whose work has made a significant contribution to advancing transport research and innovation in Europe.
Many AET members know Elisabete through her longstanding commitment to the Association. In addition to serving as Chair of the Local Public Transport Programme Committee, she is a familiar speaker at the European Transport Conference and a contributor to several AET Transport & Mobility Forum (TMF) webinars. She has also played an important role in the wider European transport research community, including her significant contribution to the organisation of TRA 2022 in Lisbon.
Beyond AET, Elisabete chairs the Economics & Policy Thematic Group of the European Conference of Transport Research Institutes (ECTRI), one of AET’s long-standing partner organisations, helping to strengthen the links between transport research, policy and practice across Europe.
The AET community is proud to celebrate this well-deserved recognition and warmly congratulates Elisabete on this outstanding achievement.
Meet Elisabete at ETC 2026! She will be joining colleagues from across Europe at the European Transport Conference 2026, taking place in her home country, Portugal, from 9–11 September in Porto. We look forward to welcoming Elisabete and all members of the AET community there.
